私たちの心はうちに燃えていたではないか

　そこでふたりは話し合った。
「道々お話になっている間も、聖書を説明してくださった間も、
私たちの心はうちに燃えていたではないか。」
　すぐさまふたりは立って、エルサレムに戻ってみると、十一使徒とその仲間が集まって、
「ほんとうに主はよみがえって、シモンにお姿を現された」と言っていた。
　彼らも道であったいろいろなことや、
パンを裂かれたときにイエスだとわかった次第を話した。

 They asked each other,
“Were not our hearts burning within us
while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”
 They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem.
There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled together and saying,
“It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.”
 Then the two told what had happened on the way,
and how Jesus was recognized by them when he broke the bread.
