Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and then enter the glory?

キリストは、必ず、そのような苦しみを受けて、それから、彼の栄光に入るはずではなかったのですか

　すると、イエスは言われた。
「ああ、愚かな人たち。預言者たちの言ったすべてを信じない、心の鈍い人たち。
　キリストは、必ず、そのような苦しみを受けて、それから、彼の栄光に入るはずではなかったのですか。」
　 それから、イエスは、モーセおよびすべての預言者から始めて、
聖書全体の中で、ご自分について書いてある事がらを彼らに解き明かされた。

　He said to them,
“How foolish you are, and how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoke!
  Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?”
   And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, 
he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.
