大ぜいの人々が集まって来て...驚きあきれてしまった

　さて、エルサレムには、敬虔なユダヤ人たちが、
天下のあらゆる国から来て住んでいたが、
この物音が起こると、大ぜいの人々が集まって来た。
彼らは、それぞれ自分の国のことばで弟子たちが話すのを聞いて、
驚きあきれてしまった。

　Now there were staying in Jerusalem God fearing Jews from every nation under heaven.
When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment,
because each one heard them speaking in his own language.

When the day of Pentecost came...

五旬節の日になって...

　五旬節の日になって、みなが一つ所に集まっていた。
すると突然、天から、激しい風が吹いてくるような響きが起こり、
彼らのいた家全体に響き渡った。

　When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.
Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven
and filled the whole house where they were sitting.

　So they proposed two men:
Joseph called Barsabbas (also known as Justus) and Matthias.　
Then they prayed,

  In those days Peter stood up among the believers
(a group numbering about a hundred and twenty) and said,
“Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled which the Holy Spirit spoke long ago
through the mouth of David concerning Judas, who served as guide for those who arrested Jesus―

 “For,”said Peter,“it is written in the book of Psalms,
“ 'May his place be deserted;
  let there be no one to dwell in it,'
and, “ 'May another take his place of leadership.'
Therefor it is necessary to choose one of the men
who have been with us the whole time the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
beginning from John's baptism to the time when Jesus was taken up from us.
For one of these must become a witness with us of his resurrection.”

　Then they returned to Jerusalem from hill called the Mount of Olives,
a Sabbath day's walk from the city.
  When they arrived, they went upstairs to the room where they were staying.
Those present were Peter, John, James and Andrew; Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew; James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James.
  They all joined together constantly in prayer,
along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.

will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

　Jesus said to them,“Come and have breakfast.”

どうして心に疑いを起こすのですか

　これらのことを話している間に、イエスご自身が彼らの真ん中に立たれた。

 While they were still talking about this,
Jesus himself stood among them and said to them,
“Peace be with you.”
 They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost.
He said to them,
“Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds?
Look at my hands and my feet. It is myself!
Touch me and see;
a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.”
 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet.

私たちの心はうちに燃えていたではないか

　そこでふたりは話し合った。
「道々お話になっている間も、聖書を説明してくださった間も、

 They asked each other,
“Were not our hearts burning within us
while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”
 They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem.
There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled together and saying,
“It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.”
 Then the two told what had happened on the way,
and how Jesus was recognized by them when he broke the bread.

  As they approached the village to which they were going,
Jesus acted as if he were going farther.
  But they urged him strongly,
“Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over.”
So he went in to stay with them.

he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them.
  Then their eyes were opened and recognized him,
and he disappeared from their sight.

Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and then enter the glory?

they had seen a vision of angels, who said he was alive

御使いたちの幻を見たが、御使いたちがイエスは生きておられると告げた、と言うです

　しかし私たちは、この方こそイスラエルを贖ってくださるはずだ、と望みをかけていました。
事実、そればかりでなく、その事があってから三日目になりますが、
　また仲間の女たちが私たちを驚かせました。
その女たちは朝早く墓に行ってみましたが、
　イエスのからだが見当たらないので、戻ってきました。

御使いたちがイエスは生きておられると告げた、と言うのです。
　それで、仲間の何人かが墓に行ってみたのですが、
はたして女たちの言ったとおりで、
イエスさまは見当たらなかった、というのです。

　but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel.
And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place.
  In addition, some of our women amazed us.
they went to the tomb early this morning

and found it just as the women had said,
but him they did not see."

　イエスは彼らに言われた。

  He asked them,
“What are you discussing together as you walk along?”

“He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all people.
The chief priests and our rulers handed him over to be sentenced to death,
